Hello and welcome

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed, stuck, lost or confused. Counselling can help make better sense of your thoughts and feelings, helping you find a way through your challenges – like the hope and comfort of “apricity” which means “the warmth of the sun in Winter”.

I believe you already have all you need within you to be who and how you want to be. Change is possible if you want it to be, you may just need a helping hand to see what’s getting in the way. I’ll help you better understand yourself, find the light within you, so that you can move forward and thrive.

You may feel unsure how to find the right help, but you’ve come this far so let’s see if it feels right to work together. I’m friendly, open-minded, down to earth and compassionate. I’ll do my best to put you at ease so you can be yourself and then we will work at your pace.

How I can support you

I provide a supportive relationship and space where you can explore what’s going on for you. I will truly listen, aiming to understand you without judgment and in complete privacy, so you are free to be yourself. You are my priority.

I'm a fully qualified Therapeutic Counsellor registered with the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. As an 'integrative' counsellor, I combine different skills and techniques depending on your needs. Tailoring my approach to you, I help you develop your self-awareness, autonomy and resilience, with coping strategies for facing your challenges.

Being able to talk freely can be liberating and enlightening. I also draw on practises that help release and regulate emotions by working somatically within the body. Working creatively with objects may also shed light on patterns of thinking or behaviour and encourage more helpful ways of being – particularly when it’s hard to find the words.

I offer face-to-face sessions in my comfortable counselling room or outdoors where we can walk and talk. I love how moving and breathing in nature can nurture the spirit, helping us reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. If better for you, we can hold sessions online or by phone.

All are welcome

I work with young people (16+ years) and adults (although not cats currently!), welcoming all cultures and identities across a broad range of issues. I provide non-judgmental empathy, a supportive compassionate style and even a bit of humour if that helps! I love nurturing young people as they learn to navigate the challenges of life. But as adults, we can also need support while evolving and discovering how to move forward on our journey.

Find your light

I love “apricity” - the warmth of the Winter sun. When it feels gloomy, sunlight brings colour, clarity and contrast. It brightens details not seen or appreciated for a while. The sun does hide behind the clouds, but it’s always there waiting to shine again. I believe there is also light within each of us but sometimes our own clouds get in the way. Together, we can find your light within you to help brighten your path ahead.

A place for you

You are welcome to meet me in person in the privacy of my comfortable counselling room. Or, if better for you, we can hold sessions online or by phone. If, like me, you enjoy being outdoors, we could walk and talk together. I find moving and breathing in nature can nurture the spirit, helping us reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.

Sessions and fees

I offer a free 30 minute introductory meeting for us to get to know each other a little. You can share what’s going on for you and the support you feel you need. I’ll explain how I work and answer any queries you may have. We can decide from there if we feel we would like to work together and find time for us to meet regularly.

Sessions are 50 minutes and I work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We can meet in person in my comfortable counselling room in Farthinghoe, halfway between Banbury and Brackley. If you prefer to walk and talk, we can find a mutually agreed location in the nearby countryside.

Although I prefer to meet in person, I do offer sessions online or over the phone. This may help if you live further away or if it’s difficult for you to come to Farthinghoe.

Sessions are £50. I offer limited concessions and will try to help if I can.

Walk and talk sessions may need to be priced higher to accommodate travel time.

All sessions to be paid via bank transfer in advance or by cash on the day as per my cancellation policy in my counselling agreement.
